Thanksgiving 2020 Dear Friends, During these trying times, we want to thank all of you for your patience and continued patronage. We miss not being able to have our monthly tasting events. Hopefully soon! So in lieu of our annual Thanksgiving tasting we have decided to give you some suggestions for your holiday meal.... 1) Raats Dry Chenin Blanc South Africa Gripping acidity is a trademark of this versatile white wine. In South Africa, Chenin Blanc wines tend to be dry and crisp with notes of white peach and pear. 2) Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier California Overwhelmingly food friendly, this wine goes with nearly any type of dish. This Californian blend has lush fruit aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, Anjou pear, and nectarine with a dry finish that cleans the palate. 3) Raeburn Chardonnay- Russian River Valley, California- Bright and full of flavor with just the right amounts of: Green Apple, Golden Apple, creaminess, and a hint of toast on the finish. Because of the balance and acidity displayed this is a much more food friendly wine than most Chardonnay wines from California. 4) Leda the Truffle Hunter Barbera, Italy- Barbera is a red grape that is mostly grown in Piedmont, Italy. Some can be sharp and tangy, although, this version is medium bodied with lush fruit and an easy finish that make it perfect for Thanksgiving. The challenge with this particular meal is to have a wine that stands up to all of the side dishes without blowing the Turkey off the plate. This wine is perfect for the occasion. 5) Faiveley Pinot Noir Burgundy, France Light color and bright red berries highlight this very aromatic red wine. The Faiveley family has been making great wine for over seven generations. Medium bodied and elegant, this red wine evolves as you drink it. A wonderful pairing with a Turkey dinner. 6) Casal Bordino Montepulciano- Italy- Even though this is not a pricey wine, this is a very well made red wine from Southern Italy. Bursting with lush fruit with notes of: ripe plum, dark cherry, and black berry, this medium bodied red wine has enough acidity and structure to compliment your meal without being overpowering. 7) Tortoise Creek Zinfandel- California- Ripe and lush fruit are the hallmarks of this red beauty from California (not talking about the icky pink stuff). This wine has jammy ripe fruit with notes of: plum, dark berries and a long smooth finish. We will have a table with suggestions in the store as well. Say you like Josh Cabernet, but are looking for something special. This red beauty from Alexander Valley in Sonoma could be the answer! Good fruit, more depth of flavor and complexity than Josh, also with a long and velvety finish.

Napa Cabernet that is structured and elegant. Yum!

Tremendous Chianti value! Old World style ,but priced far below its fighting weight.

Good fruit, medium bodied and great with pizza or a burger!

New, inexpensive, and tasty...Sauvignon Blanc and Dry Rosé from the Loire Valley of France.
