GINGER SNACKS: THE MEME Hey fellow gingers, we just caught this helpful quarantine meme making the rounds. The tip is that 30 days of eating Little Debbies Snack Cakes will make your hair grow more red.
GET BETTER SOON, TORMUND! Red Heads are a social bunch, but we're not immune to the COVID-19 so we'll have to keep the socializing to online for the foreseeable future. Take care out there, gingers.
"GINGIFICATION," LATEST ENTRY IN LoERH LEXICON Members of The League of Extraordinary Red Heads have an ever-growing list of red-hair-neologisms we call "The Gammon," which is a fancy term for a secret language (not to be confused with the cut of meat or corresponding British pejorative). Today, we just added a new word to the lingo: "Gingification," i.e. the process of changing the character of a place through the influx of more gingers. ... The term was coined this morning by red-haired radio personality Lou Milano of Danbury, CT. Here's the context: "I was kidding about Troy, it's a fine town I just didn't make the best of it. Now that it's undergone a 'Gingification,' I may have to give it another try." Read Lou's article at the link below. This is the second time Lou has written about the LoERH. In his first post, he was a bit harsh about Troy NY, a.k.a. "Ginger City, USA," where the League makes its international headquarters. We returned his barbs with conviviality and he appears to have recanted slightly. P.S. Lou was a tad over-reaching in his claim to have been made an "honorary" member. So far, only one person in history has been bestowed an "Honorary Member" card, and that's author George R.R. Martin. As you can see, Lou received the "Member(ish)" card, denoting a different status. Other cards within our mysterious ranks include "MC1R Gene Carrier" and, of course, "Member."
THE LEGEND OF OUR EPIC MEETING WITH GRRM GROWS NYup.com has a excellent report on our very epic meeting with "A Game of Thrones" Author George R.R. Martin at Knave at the Parker New York. For the record, however, it was The Hon. Anasha who inducted GRRM into the LoERH. I then gave him a "Member" card to present to his naturally red haired wife, now that he has the full authority to "card" any red head he deems extraordinary... as is the right of any card carrying member of the LoERH!
IF YOU ATTENDED LOCAL GINGER CLUB MEETINGS.... Last night on Shameless on Showtime: ----------------... Debbie Gallagher: Know anywhere I can get a red headed toddler for rent? Ian Gallagher : Well if you attended the local ginger club meetings like I asked you to, you’d know a dozen red headed toddlers by now. ----------------- While we'd love to have Cameron Monaghan, Emma Kenney and William H.Macy attend one of our gatherings, our red headed toddlers are not for rent. P.S. Here's how you can start your own local chapter of the League of Extraordinary Red Heads: https://extraordinary.red/about/affiliation-page/
VIDEO: THE MAKING OF A GAME OF GINGERS George R.R. Martin + League of Extraordinary Red Heads: May Your Holidays Be Kissed by Fire! - Greeting Card 2019 In 2019, The League of Extraordinary Red Heads hoisted drinking vessels with George R.R. Martin, author of "A Game of Thrones," for the League's annual holiday greeting card.... In this short behind-the-scenes video, the red quorum bestows upon GRRM an LoERH Honorary Member card as a show of thanks for sharing such wonderful red haired characters with the world. There is some humourous banter between the author and the ginger delegation before the official group photo is snapped. This cosplay parody tribute came to pass Knave at the Parker New York. ( In their good fortune, neither HBO nor any of GRRM’s publishers are associated with or are in any way responsible for The League of Extraordinary Red Heads. ) For more photos and information about the LoERH and this holiday greeting card, read the scroll about this epic encounter at: https://extraordinary.red/AGOG/ THE CAST - From left to right, back row: Anthony Gagliardi; Noelle Reign; Margaret Young; Laura McCaffrey; Anasha Cummings; front row: Duncan Crary; Mary Darcy; Colin Butler; George R.R. HONORARY MEMBER, LoERH Only 25 of these Honorary Member cards exist. They are kept locked in a safe, under constant guard, at League of Extraordinary Red Heads HQ in Troy, N.Y. a.k.a. "Ginger City, U.S.A." For the first time in history, a delegation from LoERH will present one of these tomorrow in New York City to a very special figure. (We'll reveal who received this distinction -- which is rarer than red hair -- in November!)
