We have been receiving many inquiries about COVID-19 vaccine availability and distribution here in Lewis County. At this time, New York State determines the prioritization for vaccination. Vaccines will be distributed in phases to groups of people at increased risk of COVID-19 exposure or severe COVID-19 illness. Phased distribution will take time. Additional phases will be listed as vaccines become more available. Currently, Lewis County Health System in partnership with Le...wis County Public Health is administering vaccine to Phase 1a individuals. Erin Monnat, Middle School Guidance Counselor at Beaver River Central School, discusses what community means to her and how it's the community's responsibility to make sure that we take care of each and every member. "...Our youngest members; those are the ones that are going to be building the tomorrows and it's important for us to remember that we have a responsibility to protect them. We have a responsibility to teach them what character looks like and in this instance, it looks like wearing your mask to respect the person next to you enough to not want to give them a hardship they don't have to endure..." Thank you to Mrs. Monnat and to all educators who are continuing to educate students during these challenging times.
In this video, Nick Hanno, RN & Nurse Manager for the ER, discusses what he feels community means to him, what he's seeing in the community, and expresses how proud he is of the LCGH staff. I’m proud of all the hospital staff, especially the ER staff. When push comes to shove, the staff really steps up and tries to go the extra mile to fill the roles that are vacant from other people who get sick they try to keep the community safe and healthy and they see it all. Thank you to Nick and to all of the frontline workers that continue to work hard to help keep our community safe and healthy.
