Took some inspiration this weekend from @makeartandfeelbetter and had fun experimenting with this simple technique. Watercolor + salt. All you need is watercolors, some paper (masking tape frame optional) and table salt! I’ll post some tips in my story. #makeartandfeelbetter #art #arttherapy #fluidart #watercolor #salt #makeart #creativity #therapy

But the numbers were unequivocal: There was no statistically significant benefit from intermittent fasting in this study, either for weight loss or other health outcomes. The only distinction for fasting, in fact, was a negative side effect. Participants on the intermittent-fasting diet lost significantly more lean mass than fat mass compared with those who had regular meal times. https://www.insider.com/doctor-no-longer-supports-fasting-d

I’ve seen a lot of book recommendations for those trying to learn about our country’s embedded history of racism. Surprisingly, I haven’t seen this one mentioned much. I started reading The Warmth of Other Suns a few months back but ran out of time on my library loan. I then picked it back up this week and came across this passage, which was not only timely, but one of the many times reading this book that I’ve thought, wow this is not what I remember learning in history cla...ss. This book presents real people’s stories from the Great Migration and eloquently reminds us how not far enough we’ve come as a nation. As a white person, I was taught to believe this was in the past history, presented almost like a smudge on the record that obviously we must have fixed... yet, when I read and take a good look and listen to all the voices echoing now, I know we have not done enough. I see all the emotions and people being reactive towards each other on social media (which is today’s rumor mill if not used responsibly). It is an intense time but I believe we can act urgently and also slow down and listen simultaneously. It has helped me to re-learn history and place everything in context. I encourage you all to read this book and keep listening as well. #isabelwilkerson #thewarmthofothersuns #blacklivesmatter #antiracism See more
