We have collected over 3000 bags this past year for our emergency food relief. Thank you to everyone who has donated to this important project! We are still collecting donations as the need is still high. Here is a video that Pastor Mark made for our children's time in worship.
Thank you to the Greenlawn_Centerport Historical Association for sharing some of the history of our church. We will be glad to renovate the building and keep the same unique look.
We would love to give a tour to anyone who interested. We can't wait to get back to worship in our beautiful sanctuary later this spring!
It was great to have Alexandra Martinez stop by to see our church last week. We always like to share our building with our neighbors.
Pastor Mark shares quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., about the three great evils identified by Dr. King. Worship video for January 17, 2021 also features music by the church choir.
Advent service, socially distanced with candlelight and music. 5:00 each Sunday during Advent. #congregationalchurchofhuntington @congregationalchuchofhuntington @lichurch
Each week we collect groceries for distribution to Huntington families on Mondays. Our food collections have been falling from 60 bags/week to 40 bags/week. But the need is still as great. Please give. There are collection bins on the sidewalk by the church parking lot, 30 Washington Drive, Centerport NY.
Pastor Mark shares a special message for children in Zoom worship each Sunday. He is always in a different place to keep the children guessing. For World Communion Sunday he ate falafel to celebrate all our neighbors around the world. You can join our Sunday Zoom worship, 10:00 AM, by going to https://lichurch.org for the worship link.
Each week Pastor Mark shares a video for his children's time on our Zoom worship service. You may join by going to www.lichurch.org for the link. It is 10:00 AM on Sunday. This past Sunday he showed the new "Hate Has No Home in Huntington" sign in front of the church. Unfortunately, the sign disappeared last night. We will replace it!
Congratulations! Since March 23 we have delivered over 1000 bags of groceries to the Tri-CYA in Huntington. We drop them off each Monday morning and they are all given to families in need that day. They still serve over 200 families a week. Keep bringing your donations to the The Congregational Church, 30 Washington Drive, Centerport.

We have an amazing line-up of musicians for our CCH Live Folk Music concert tomorrow (Sunday) night. Go to www.lichurch.org to register. It is an important benefit for the church and a chance to hear some wonderful performers.
Pastor Mark was featured in Newsday's "Ask the Clergy" column this weekend. Here is his response to the question "How does your faith support LGBTQ+ individuals?"
Pastor Mark joined 30 other faith leaders of the Town of Huntington in mourning the death of George Floyd and condemning structural racism.
This past Sunday Pastor Mark spoke of the hope of Pentecost to help heal the moral sickness of racism that permeates our country. You can find the audio of his sermon on our church website: https://lichurch.org/sermon/the-healing-spirit/
Thank you to everyone who has been donating food at the church. We took 80 bags of groceries to Tri-CYA on Monday, but they had 214 families come on that one day looking for emergency food assistance. Please help. Our bins are out 24/7 and emptied regularly. 30 Washington Drive, Centerport NY.

Debbie Rimler, Director of the Tri-CYA, explains their food program. This week the need doubled, but our donations have fallen dramatically. Keep giving! Drive-by food donations in the parking lot of The Congregational Church of Huntington, UCC, 30 Washington Drive, Centerport NY. Open 24/7--no touch, very safe.
Who still doesn't know how to mute?
Keeping our building closed is one way we love our neighbors. Sacrifice is an important Christian value and in this time we sacrifice our convenience to worship in-person to help others. We will keep stay on-line until it is completely safe to return to the sanctuary.
