For the month of May, the Oswego County Suicide Prevention Coalition is joining other organizations across the nation to raise Mental Health Awareness. Nearly 5...0 million adults in the United States face the reality of managing a mental illness every day. 1 in 25 adults in the United States experience a serious mental illness in a given year. Nearly 9.8 million adults in the United States have suicidal thoughts. Common barriers to treatment include the cost of mental health care and insurance, prejudice and discrimination and structural barriers like transportation. Fewer than half of the adults in the U.S. who experience mental illness get the help they need. Let's show our support this month and raise some Mental Health Awareness!
