Lights On The River

Distribution Day! Today we distributed about 4000 lbs of food between our pantries and each pantry got $1,650. It was a great year for Lights on the River and we are extremely thankful to all of our sponsors and the community for coming together and helping us this year! Tonight is the last night we are open this year. It has been a remarkable year for us and we all are so grateful for the turnout, the positive spirits, and the donations. Already this weekend has been record breaking for us and we still have tonight! If you haven’t seen the event and planned to do so please come down tonight to Lisbon Beach and Campground from 5pm-8pm. Please be safe and enjoy! Happy Holidays!

Tonight is night number 3!!!! You only have three more opportunities to see the lights this year! We are asking that if you are making an in person donation to please wear a mask. If you are experiencing symptoms, awaiting test results, or have tested positive within the last 14 days that you DO NOT interact with our volunteers. Please crack your window and indicate you are not feeling well. If you donated online you can do the same thing. Don't forget you can access our pamphlet and Dash entry online as well. We had a great turnout this past weekend. It was an amazing sight to see so many people coming out to see the lights and supporting our local food pantries. If you missed us this past weekend you can catch us this coming weekend, Friday the 18th, Saturday the 19th, and Sunday the 20th from 5-8pm. Due to COVID we are not open during the week this year.

Dash is back from the North Pole! He was waiting this morning for a ride to Lisbon Beach to help with finishing touches for the opening of Lights on the River tonight. We know Dash tends to get into some mischief while helping so we'll have to keep our eye on him. Dash is looking forward to seeing everyone!

Hello everyone! Who’s excited to see all of our lovely displays?! Tomorrow will be our first night. We will be open from 5pm-8pm. This event is free, however, we accept monetary and food donations for our local food pantries. This year due to the pandemic we are encouraging everyone to donate through our PayPal account. There will be no paper pamphlets this year, but we do have a QR code that will link all of our viewers to the pamphlet, our PayPal, and Dash. Yes that’s right, Dash is back! He’s flying in tomorrow morning from the North Pole to see everyone! As a reminder our dates are December 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th, and 20th. We are so excited to be open this year and hope to see you at Lisbon Beach and Campground for this year’s event!

Opening night is 2 nights away!!!! As many of you have already heard, we are encouraging people to donate online through our PayPal account which you can find on our website. This is to help minimize contact and make the event as safe as possible for all! Please wear a mask if you are interacting with any of our staff during the event! There will be QR codes at the beach for Donating, our pamphlet, and Dash! Yes that's right, Dash is coming down from the North Pole to hang out at the beach again this year!

Site numbers have been emailed to those who have already signed up. Please check your spam folder if you do not see the email and it will be titled "Message from Lights on the River". We still have empty spots for those looking to put up a display!!!! If you have a star for our Angels in Heaven display please drop it off sometime this week and we will put it up for you!

Site numbers will be emailed Thursday night (12/3/2020). There is still plenty of time to get a site so please log on to our website www.lightsontheriver.org and click on pledge/display card in the menu bar. Displays are free to setup and a great way to give back to your community!

Our dates for this year are as follows: Setup for displays will start on December 5th and run until noon on December 12th. Please follow CDC recommendations during setup (wear a mask, social distancing, etc). We will open the gate from 5pm until 8pm on the 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th, and 20th (5 nights). We will post our pamphlet on our website and we are encouraging individuals to donate on our website through PayPal. We are also encouraging monetary donations (in person or via PayPal) over food donations to help minimize the spread of COVID19. We have worked with public health and come up with these changes to protect our workers and the public. As always we ask that everyone stay in their vehicle at all times and encourage people to travel safely!
