I promise that your estate plan can be this peaceful. 72% of adults agree that they should have an estate plan. The number one reason they don’t have one? Procrastination. People think they have time to do it later. People also think that it requires a lot of heavy lifting, and so they put it off. I’m here to help you get it done now, and get it done easily.... If you care about who receives your assets, when they receive, and how they receive, then estate planning is for you. Let’s get started. Schedule an appointment using the link in my bio. See more

Many spouses instinctively leave most, if not all, of their assets to their spouse. This is very sweet and loving. But, this could cause problems if there is a child outside of that marriage. Why? Because the surviving spouse will likely leave everything to THEIR children. And if THEIR children doesn’t include YOUR child from a previous relationship, then your child/children may be left out of the equation. It doesn’t even have to be malicious, sometimes it’s an accident. A better strategy is to specifically earmark items for your child from the prior relationship. That way, that child, and the children from the marriage, all benefit. No one is left out (unless you want them to be...which is okay too). If this applies to you, and you want some guidance, visit my bio for a link to my website and schedule an appointment.

POA v. Guardianship Both a Power of Attorney (POA) and Guardianship allow you to make financial and legal decisions on behalf of an incapacitated person. But here’s the difference: POA: Can be prepared within a week and costs anywhere between $700 and $1000. No court approval required because the agent signs the document and chooses who gets to be their POA. ... Guardianship: Requires a petition to be drafted and filed with the court. Process can take up to six months to complete. Price ranges from $5000-$15,000. Usually, people resort to guardianship, when they can no longer obtain a POA. When can you no longer obtain a POA? After the agent is incapacitated for any reason, example, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and can no longer understand and sign documents. Save yourself some time, money, and hassle by getting a POA now.

If you know me, you know I love my tribe, I love collaboration, I love my friends and truly believe that God blesses me with the people placed in my life. As I embark on this new journey, I’m thrilled to have these two ladies, and many more who haven’t been pictured yet, to ride with me. I want all of us to be wildly, beautifully and peacefully successful.

Imposter Syndrome is loosely defined as doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud. Psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes developed the concept, originally termed imposter phenomenon, in their 1978 founding study, which focused on high-achieving women. They posited that despite outstanding academic and professional accomplishments, women who experience the imposter phenomenon persist in believing that they are really not bright and have fooled anyone who... thinks otherwise. -Harvard Business Review, 2/11/21 When I was in corporate, I can’t say that I experienced imposter syndrome. I always felt like I deserved my position, that I was doing a good job (even when I could have done more), and that my accolades weren’t exxagerated. Now, as a business owner, that uncertain feeling has come up once or twice. In corporate, I had the safety net. I had colleagues I could bounce ideas off of. But as a solopreneur, it’s all me (insert Big Sean), and I feel a greater responsibility. Luckily, I’ve been reminded that one can feel uncertain without feeling like an imposter. Just because you’re having a moment of uncertainty, doesn’t mean your entire career has been a bag of tricks and lies. It’s OK to not have any answer. It’s OK to need more time to get back to your client, or your boss. You’re not an imposter; you’re growing, you’re stretching, and you’ll figure it out.
