New shop truck project!!! We picked this up yesterday, it's a '95 F-150 with a 5.0l. We are going to build a nice little motor for it. Can't wait to rip into it!!!
Another one running great and ready for the season! Check out Tony's '34 Coupe. Nice little small block Chevy. We replaced the carb, tuned it up, and got it running just right. Love it!
Some before and after pics of Paul's Chevelle big block swap project. The 2 barrel 350 and turbo 350 transmission are out and gone. Now it's packing a GM Performance ZZ454 crate big block, and a built Turbo 400 trans, with a stall converter. We had a new drive shaft made, and a new custom exhaust system fabricated. It's like a different car, sounds and runs great!!!
Two weeks ago, this car drove in with a low performance 2 barrel 350 small block, and a turbo 350 transmission. Now it's packing a GM Performance 454 big block crate engine, and a built turbo 400 trans! We made the big block swap, and did lots of other repairs and upgrades along the way. We were able to keep the air conditioning, and make it work with the big block. Richie at Flowrite Exhaust Systems/United Exhaust Shop bent us up some killer new pipes, as usual. The car used to be quiet, and quite slow. Now it's a proper hot rod, like a Chevelle SS should be!! Enjoy it Paul, you got a bad ride now!
Another amazing job by the crew at Flowrite Exhaust Systems/United Exhaust Shop! We went with a traditional true dual system on this one, with Flowmaster mufflers. Man it sounds good! Thank you Richie and crew, another incredible job!
We installed a set of ceramic coated full length headers on a big block Chevelle today. We also installed a Flowmaster "bolt-in" exhaust kit. In my experience, these kits are anything but bolt-in. We had to cut, modify, and manipulate every piece. We were able to make it fit nice and tight, but it wasn't an easy job. Sound vids tomorrow when we fire it up!!!
Joe's re-built big block is installed and ready to fire up! Looks great, can't wait to hear it. Vids coming tomorrow!
Another one done and down the road today. Check out Rich's '50 Ford Custom. It's got a fox body 302 roller motor in it, pretty cool. She's been sitting for years. We did a full brake system overhaul, a full tune, and lots of wiring work. Enjoy Rich!
Another G-body heater core replacement this week. It seems like these are all going bad at once. We change them often. I'm sure it's just the age, these cars aren't getting any younger, lol. This one was an original, and 36 years old. Not too bad I guess.
Another small block Chevy getting torn down and ready to be re-built. This one is going to be a nice little 357ci street motor. It did run, but had low oil pressure and weak compression. It was rebuilt years ago, but was tired. We are going to bore it .040 over, replace the pistons, install some upgraded cylinder heads, and a healthy camshaft.
Nice four wheel brake job on a classic '50 Ford today. More work and more pics next week.
Another LIMCG / Ace Competition Engines/Machine World custom built engine went together today. This is a nice little 396 big block rebuild. It's going in a killer '69 Chevelle. We bored and honed it to a 402, increased the compression ratio, installed forged pistons, upgraded heads, a Lunati Voodoo camshaft, Edlebrock intake manifold, etc etc. This will be a nice pump gas street motor. Can't wait to hear it!!!
Nice custom Autometer gauge installation on my friend Bryan's Olds Cutlass today. Idiot lights don't cut it when you have a nice hot street motor. Enjoy Bryan!!!
Check out this beat up bearing retainer on a fox body T5. We were planning on a simple clutch and throw out bearing replacement, but sometimes it's not that simple. The throw out bearing destroyed the retainer. Not a huge deal, we replaced the retainer and shimmed it to spec. We also had the flywheel cut, installed a Ford Performance clutch kit, and changed the trans fluid. Now it shifts like new again.
Another beautiful low mileage fox this week. My buddy Steve's vert got another round of upgrades. We installed some MM sub frame connectors, and a strut tower brace. I love this one, it's extremely clean, and it drives so nice. Enjoy Steve!!!
Our 351 Windsor engine build went very well today. This is going to be a nice little pump gas street motor. We bored it .030 over and changed the pistons. This helped us raised the compression ratio from the terrible stock 8.0:1, to 9.5:1. It also got a Lunati Voodoo camshaft, high volume oil pump, double roller timing chain, aluminum cylinder heads, and a Weiand dual plane manifold. Can't wait to hear it! Just have to wait for the custom push rods to come in! Big thanks to the crew at Ace Competition Engines/Machine World for the machine work, and to my boy Bobby Junior for the assembly!
Here we go again! Another LIMCG/ Ace Competition Engines/Machine World custom built engine going together. This one is a Ford 351 Windsor. I'll post more details and pics as we assemble it tomorrow.
Another one done and ready for the streets. My friend Chris's LX got a ton of repairs and upgrades this week. What a killer car, I love it. Best job in the world!
Some more fox work today. This 302 was leaking coolant from the corners of the intake manifold gaskets. We pulled it apart and found the old style Fel Pro intake gaskets went bad. These go bad often. Fel Pro redesigned them because of this issue. The new ones are steel cored, and don't come apart like this. The new updated part number is #1250S-3.
Nice full exhaust job on Chris's fox today. We installed a set of BBK ceramic coated headers, a Bassani X pipe, and a Flowmaster cat back. We got it to fit perfect, even with the huge 18" wheels and tires! Looks and sounds incredible.
Some more fox body Mustang work this week. We did a full suspension upgrade, and a rear end upgrade. More coming tomorrow!!!
We just wrapped up a nice project this week. This has to be one of the coolest cars we have done in a long time. It's a 1966 Buick Skylark Grand Sport. It sat unused in a garage for almost 20 years. We made lots of repairs and upgrades, and got it back on the streets, running great! We did a power disc brake conversion, and re-built the rest of the brake system. We re-worked the fuel system, and the cooling system, replaced the tires, tuned it up, changed all of the fluids, and more. What a cool car, it's in amazing original condition. Love the way that killer 401 nailhead sounds! She drives like a dream. Enjoy your ride John!
Quick video of Ralph's 331 stroker small block Ford making some noise for the first time. We went from a worn out, oil burning, stock 302, to a killer custom built 331 stroker, in just three weeks. Not too shabby. Big thanks to the crew at Ace Competition Engines/Machine World for the machine work in record time as usual!
