This past month has been National Childhood Cancer Awareness and I didn’t want it to pass by without offer support and to bring attention to finding a way to eradicate childhood cancer. As a parent that experienced first hand the trauma of hearing that word and disease in relation to one of my own children...it still has the power to bring forth fear and panic. And I will always carry a gratitude that is hard to quantify for the nurses, doctors and surgeons that touched my daughter. As a therapist it is my hope that if any family is finding themselves needing to navigate this awful disease that you know that there is support and services available to you and your family. You don’t have to do this alone. #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth, #alexslemonadestand, #ChildhoodCancerAwareness, #lindadeanhatzlmsw
A few weeks ago on a walk I found this heart leaf...I know I already shared this picture but I felt like it matched up just as much... holding our own hearts as sacred as well as those of others. How will you practice the art of self-care today? You are..we are all deserving of taking time for ourselves. #internationalselfcareday #wellnessjourney #selfcare #lindadeanhatz
morning walks and morning musings; I always always love when the world gives me hearts...this morning this showed up and as I picked it up and saw it in my hand it made me think of all the hearts we hold in our hands; the care and kindness that we are afforded to offer to one another. During these times of unrest, stress, fear and needing to be seen and heard it’s my wish that those in need feel that offering of kindness, and that we all partake in the gift of sharing a bit of ourselves in kindness and care To the those whose hearts we hold. Hold them dearly. #alwayschoosekindness #blacklivesmatter #morningwalk #privatepractice
Yes miracles manifest from dirt, but the seed must be lovingly nurtured and healthy to thrive. Better can’t grow from bitter
May was Mental Health Awareness month and it’s been interesting to watch this month close out on the heels COVID quarantining and now the response to no more accepting the inequity of justice. These events have had a profound impact and will forever change us. We are called to action...we can’t sit quietly and say someone else will manage this...we are responsible for our selves; our mental and physical wellness. We are responsible for our families and our neighbors and our fellow citizens well-being and safety within our communities. Within this call there are so many ways to serve. There isn’t just one way...honor your gifts and give them freely and most of all...Listen; hear people’s stories. honor those stories. To be kind. Above all, listen and be kind.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the women out there....this day, this weekend can be complicated for so many. One of the things I know is that as women we spend many moments of our lives mothering.....our sisters, our children, our students, our neighbors, someone in need. May each one of you find grace and love in the moments that you have given selflessly of yourself. Know that you are loved.
I wanted to take this time to share this video with you all for a few reasons; first...it took my breath away with grief and even more so...gratitude watching so many of you serving others in such a selfless way to ensure that members of our community are supported through daily needs of finances, nutrition and health care. Thank you for your service. The second part of this post is to offer services to all of you who have been impacted by this pandemic and quarantine. If anyone is in need of mental health support and/or services please feel free to call on me. I am offering 30 minute free tele-therapy sessions while we navigate these unprecedented times. Wishing you all health and wellness.
Morning musings...I know I’ve been very quiet these past few weeks trying to adjust to a new normal and even as a therapist I’ve found myself bumping into mood shifts, fatigue and difficult life circumstances for some of the people I work with and hold dear. But this morning, a path that I take every morning with my puppy, gave me some moments of perspective and calm. It always moves me when nature gives us pieces of love along the way when we take the time to see it...or maybe it shows up just when we need it. After the past few days...I needed some of that love...and I feel grateful for what was given to me this morning. When you look at your day unfolding what are the moments of gratitude that are showing up for you?
My morning walk with lily gave a message greatly needed right now
Last year I bumped into a new concept...a danish/Norwegian tradition...hygge...to create comfort and coziness...through out this past year I’ve learned that it really is a process of self care and I’ve loved incorporating it into my life very intentionally. So tonight in between Christmas and New Years I’m have a moment of coziness...who says popcorn and champagne don’t mix? When you’re on the couch with a snuggly blanket, my puppy by my side and watching It’s a Wonderful Life...I couldn’t feel more cozy. I hope you all had wonderful holiday celebrations and wishing you all a very happy and blessed and very cozy New Year
