Linda Dugue and Elexis Pujols are two reliable, community-driven, and passionate moms who have substantially supported our work in the Lower Washington Heights community as part of our 2019 VIP cohort. They’ve facilitated programs at Word Up Community Bookshop serving children in neighboring daycares, all in front of their two little ones: Desmeana and Jazzy respectively. These VIPs are living examples of role models raising and empowering their girls to become future literac...y advocates like themselves. Their excitement and passion is notoriously present throughout their programs, including their recent virtual debut on February 26th. They developed a delightful bilingual black history month program with the support of other VIPs, where they shined with their professionalism and engagement! Thank you Linda and Elexis for creating change, one book at a time <3

This is one of Dr. Seuss’ most famous stories about a character named Sam I Am who refuses to eat green eggs and ham. This story is a classic story that every child who has ever been made to eat something they do not like can relate to. It also contains just 50 words that are repeated throughout.
