Summer and Hamlet ~ Slaughter bound after working at a seasonal camp, purchased "per pound" in 2001. He has remained 100% sound 20 years later and is now 25. This is an awesome horse by anyone's standards!

The weather was perfect today...a much needed reprieve. Emily and Liana brought Pelli and Lucky out for just a 30 minute walk, bareback. Pelli will be 23 this year and Lucky is supposed to be around 28. He arrived very recently and we're having the chiropractor go over him on Friday to assess him.

Before Lisa began reclaiming the gardens, she appeared in full hazmat gear, determined to rid the farm of poison ivy! We all sincerely appreciate her time effort ~ many of these beautiful gardens are above beloved horses we've lost.

Our vets are trying shockwave therapy with Opal to see if it will offer her some relief and promote healing. She's injured her suspensory ligament, although nobody knows how...She was turned out in the morning, came in that evening a bit more slowly and by the next morning, was unwilling to walk out of her stall. She had an ultrasound to see what was going on and the shockwave therapy was added to her treatment plan. (*Dr. Megan is still on her feet. You never want to kneel or sit on the ground next to a horse for safety's sake.)
