I House Calls Why do you love house calls? All of these responses resonate with me. I was particularly touched by the response given by, Aaron Yao, PhD, the Research Director at the Home Centered Care Institute. He reminds us about the biblical view of caring for the sick. For those interested, he is referring to Matthew 25:35-36. For I was hungry and you gave me food, ... I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Now here is the bad news. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has announced plans to reduce payments to house call providers in 2021. This does not make sense on many levels. Let's raise awareness! If you had the opportunity to see a family / friend receive medical home visits, please tell us how house calls benefited them . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCbacbQZYoY&feature=youtu.be

Here, during PBS's "Brief but Spectacular" series, Dr Meier gives a 3 min discussion about palliative care in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Let's all continue to take care of one another. Peace.
