Grateful to be featured in the latest issue of 585 magazine alongside our friend Maiah Johnson Dunn, and a big thank you to Tanvi Asher for spreading the word on our little wine co. Check out the story online or buy a copy of 585 Mag on newsstands around town. https://www.585mag.com/working-in-wine/

New Wine Club ExclusiveThis lean and racy 2016 Bone-Dry Riesling was hand harvested from a single site on the east side of Seneca Lake, whole bunch pressed, then fermented wild and partially in barrel for increased complexity in aroma and mouthfeel -- hence the name ‘Wild Oaks.’

T-minus three weeks ‘til we start our journey to Australia for harvest! We’re fortunate we can still go this year, and we’ll be hard at work making some new wines for ya. We’re in for a strict two week quarantine once we arrive, during which we’ll be focused on blending trials. And then we kick off vintage 2021! Keep an eye out for more dispatches from Down Under.

Pictured here: Our ‘Honeysuckle’ Riesling a bush honeysuckle we planted on our family’s vineyard overlooking Keuka Lake. With the ‘names’ given to our wines, we’re keen to bring a much-needed focus to the beautiful, diverse and integral natural surrounding environments + the character of the wines in both New York and South Australia. We love bringing the narrative back to the land, especially with the Hardy family’s longstanding passion for conservation, and these references also help distinguish between our different wines [i.e., two styles of Shiraz and many different styles of Riesling]! : Alexandra Meseke Photography

Next shipment from Australia to the US is en route! Restocking some of our current releases, along with new vintages of Depths of the Earth and Grenache, the last pallet of our 2017 Sauvignon Blanc [that we’ve been holding onto in secret ], plus our new Vintage Fortified. We make our Aussie wines in the Adelaide Hills, start to finish, and then send them over bottled, labeled and ready to go. They travel by sea which takes ~45 days to arrive now the waiting game begins.

Lunch break with a side of Riesling Traminette. This is our Finger Lakes play off the Riesling Gewürztraminer blend that’s done a bit around Australia [Traminette being a lesser known French-American hybrid related to Gewürz]. You can’t go wrong with this one: pretty florals, zesty citrus notes, and an off-dry palate from stopping the ferment early along with plenty of fresh natural acidity and spice to balance. It makes a great food pairing wine, too a theory we’ve put to the test with this spread here.
