Does anyone near by have a huge tub of Lego pieces that you’re looking to get rid of? Kids tired of them? All over the floor sneaking under your bare feet? The ...answer lies here. I have a big project in mind for the theatre that I need a lot of legos for. I have a project in mind and the more I can get the better. If you or looking to get rid of some or know someone who might be, please let me know. If you’re not local but have some you want to donate, send me a message and we’ll see what we can work out!

We had a great conversation with Beth and Tim Rowland. We’re so excited about this, although it is going to be a while before we open.

We appreciate everyone letting us know about the piece of flashing hanging off the roof in the back of the theatre. We’ve been working to get it repaired for a week or so, and luckily we’ve found a contractor who is going to try to do that tomorrow. Thank you again, we truly appreciate everyone’s concern.

Today, Gov. Cuomo authorized the reopening of movie theaters beginning October 23. This is great news.but! We are still going through the purchase process and there are some updates to the building we want to do prior to opening. We do not have a date yet as to when we will open (we have to wait for Hollywood to catch up producing movies so there’s something to watch), but rest assured we are very excited for when that day comes. We’ll keep everyone up to date as we get closer to opening. Thanks for your continued support! -Jerod and Chris Heidrick

Jerod and Chris Heidrick are so excited to announce that we are finalizing the purchase of Hollywood Theater in the next few weeks! During this transition, if you need to get in touch with us about any questions or suggestions you may have, please send us a message through Facebook Messenger or Chris's email at [email protected] or call the theater and we will be checking messages. We are actively monitoring this page and will respond as soon as we can. As far as o...ur plans, all movie theaters in New York State remain closed under Executive Order of the Governor, and there is no indication on when we will be allowed to reopen. We are also actively working with various nonprofit groups in the area who are interested in using the theater for their productions when we are not playing movies. We want to thank everyone for their support in this endeavor and we look forward to operating the theater as a community venture. We will keep everyone posted as the acquisition progresses. Thanks, Jerod and Chris Heidrick

We are looking for the next movie-loving, community-forward family to take charge of the Hollywood Theatre! The Hanf family is nearing the end of owning the theatre and we are putting it on the market. The new owners will have to be the right fit, something that we can discuss privately. This business is NOT about making a fortune. It is about being a part of this town and truly enjoying movies. I know that this post is going to be shared and talked about like crazy (it is a... small town!); so here is the info.... a 170 seat, two screen theatre, 2 new and still under warranty digital projectors and sound system, absolutely turn key building and business, asking 85k. This change is not immediate! We ARE planning on resuming business as usual as soon as allowed by NYS. WE ARE NOT CLOSING. Please, read that last sentence again before I hear rumors when I go to Stewart’s . But, we are excited to offer the life that we have had for the last 15 years to another passionate family or person. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions or to discuss this further. Thank you all and please feel free to share! See more

Good morning! I just wanted to let everyone know that despite the uncertainty, we are still excitedly planning on opening for the summer season. Hopefully, this will happen in late May or early June. We are really looking forward to seeing all of our fantastic customers soon!

Hollywood Theatre 21.09.2020

We are currently closed until April. Many people ask why we close for part of the year. Hopefully this will answer your questions! We are a small, family run theatre. We do not have any corporation "umbrella" over us. Because of this, it is harder for us to get first run movies, especially ones that are Oscar nominated or geared towards a smaller audience, i.e., "chick flicks" or mature demographic ones. We can get them, we just have to wait a few weeks or even a few... months. That being said, the big budget movies, both that we can get, and that have the largest audience, are usually released from April to August and in November and December, that is just how the movie business works. So these are our prime months of business. Because of this, after our first two years in the business, we decided that it was a massive loss of revenue to stay open in the "off" months, especially when the heat is on! With the exception of Lake Placid, most of the other small town, family run theatres in the North Country close for at least a few months of the year. (Schroon Lake, Old Forge.) We both work at least one other full time job, the theatre does not support us. Our children work other jobs (as well as shifts at the theatre), attend school, sports, and plays. We are a busy family and those off times at the theatre are our opportunity to have family time. We are always happy to hold fundraisers or show special showtimes when our devoted customers just can't get to a regularly scheduled show. I hope that this answers some questions and we will see you when the temps get better! Sierra and Cory
