Everyday is treated like Earth Day here at Locust Acres In Bloom. We are a certified wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation, and we do our utmost to ensure that we run a sustainable farm. We protect pollinators by providing plenty of blooms and protected habitat without the use of insecticides, and we recycle nutrients by composting everything we can, including our chicken manure, to feed our flowers to reduce our need for synthetic fertilizer. All of our pot...s and flower containers are recycled and re-used year after year, keeping a lot of plastic out of the landfills. And, we maintain five acres of forest that supports a myriad of wildlife species, including countless birds, raccoons, foxes, opossums, coyotes, weasels, and deer, to name a few. Between our forest and our untamed meadow, we support numerous breeding pairs of many species of birds that call our property home each year. When you need flowers for any occasion, give us a call! Thanks for supporting our local farm, so that we can support wildlife! See more
