Long Island Scottish Festival and Highland Games 08.05.2021

Hi L.I.S.F.H.G members, Hopefully this vaccine will be successful and if so we will be begin meetings again to plan for a Scottish Festival this year. Let's all keep our fingers crossed. We have new Corporate officers this year, Kathleen Cowie is our new President and Robert Thompson has joined the roster. Jeri Revel will be new administrator to our Facebook Page. We will be giving you monthly updates to keep you in the know about what's going on. Please keep you comments coming in so we can keep our membership going and get more people involved with our positive comments. Hope you all had a good Saint Andrews Day, Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas.

We are looking to sign up some folks to help us out this year. As you probably figured out some of our members are well into old age and we need some new blood to continue producing the Festival each year. We are recruiting new members to help us carry on the Festival so if you want to see the Festival continue, please seriously think about joining us. We have many jobs to fill, if you have worked for a nonprofit in any way we need your talents. We have many committees that we use to breakdown the work that has to be done to produce the Scottish Festival. Things like advertising, desktop publishing, children's highland games, signing up vendors, entertainment, setting up Scottish Clan tents and their partisipants, ticketing and much more.

Ok all you Scottish loving folks, The Festival is ON. We apologize for the scare about canceling it was touch and go there for a while but we have prevailed! Please contact all your friends and families to say that the Festival will go on as usual on August 24th. More and more we are in need of volunteers to help us out with planning and production of the Festival Please consider spending a few hour with us to make this a great year at the Festival. We are also looking for n...ew members to join us to prepare for the future. Wouldn't you like your children and grand children to see the Scottish Festival as you saw it as a kid? This has been a gererational thing that famlies have enjoyed for years. Please think about joining our not for profit corporation to bring the festival into the future. We are looking for individuals with fund raising skills, organizational skills, graphic arts skills, fiancial skills, please think about helping us continue on with the festival.
