The last time we took our portrait members to Birdsong Trail, these two kids didn't have much luck getting the birds to come to them. This past weekend though, there was a totally different outcome! Smiles all around for candid winter family fun!

Personal branding sessions do include some headshots, but they are also soooooo much more.

At least once a month, my six year old asks if he can look at "those books you make with pictures in them." He flips through the pages of my wedding album, then the books that came before he was born, then the books from when he was a baby, and so on. His most common question for me is often "Mommy, where was I when you were doing this?" Sometimes, I tell him he wasn't born yet. He looks at our wedding album, pointing each and every person he recognizes, and reminding ...me that we don't look the same as we did then. (Thanks, kid.) Looking at these books with him does something for us both. Every time we do, I'm so glad that I took the time to order them. I have more digital files than your average person, but real talk? We never sit together and casually flip through my hard drive having these conversations and bonding over our shared history. In the pages of these books, we bond and I tell him the stories. Before he was born, I knew I wanted to make our books, but I never fully understood their real value until now. So if you don't have your book or album made, consider this my personal plea. Photo Challenge Day 3: Orange Ok so it turns out, this was harder to come up with than I thought it’d be. I could have posted a and called it a day, but I wanted to try a littttttle. However, at first my subject wasn’t into my leaf fight suggestion, on account of three days of rain. But I picked up a handful of the orange ’s and dumped them over his head and it was game on!... (I do realize he was in last years costume/this years pjs. It was virtual pajama day at school, though...aren’t all the remote days pajama day?) What’s orange in your today? Photo Challenge Day 2: Enjoy Coloring is one of the things that my six year old and I can agree that we both enjoy doing. Awhile back, we started coloring pages from a mommy and me coloring book. Then we forgot about it until today, when he got it out, and asked if we could do one. His page says "Tiger", while my page says "Be Still." What did you enjoy today?
