Loyola Physical Therapy Reopening Protocols 1. LoyolaPT follows CDC and NYC Gov. Cuomo HHC guidelines to prevent SARS COVID 19 infection. 2. Only one patient is scheduled in the studio at a time. All appointments are scheduled with an extra 15-minute buffer to avoid any overlap.... In the unlikely event that a patient arrives early and cannot wait outside, he or she may be allowed to wait in the 2nd room separated by the room curtain, wearing a mask, and sitting or standing a minimum of 6-feet away from the path the current patient will traverse. Dr. Carlos will guide everyone to ensure safe distance and avoid confusion. 3. The LPT bathroom is kept clean and is sanitized after each use. 4. Decals and signs are posted on the walls, floor and seats, to indicate proper physical distancing in the studio. 5. Dr. Carlos will practice thorough hand washing before, after and during each PT session. 6. The massage table and all exercise and therapeutic equipment are being cleaned and sanitized with cleaning agents that combat against CoVid-19 and other viruses after every use. 7. Both Dr. Carlos and the patient will wear a mask during the session. Depending on the session, the client may be allowed to take the mask off while getting stretched or massaged in the face-down position. 8. Bottled water will be available upon request. See more

Your skeleton is so out of sight, out of mind that you probably do not give it much thought. But, get this the entire thing regenerates about every 10 years. Composed of bone marrow, cortical bone, and cancellous bone, the skeleton doesn’t just grow into its adult size and remain the same; it remodels constantly in order to replace old or fractured bones with new ones while maintaining healthy cells and providing calcium to the rest of the body. Bones are made up of living ...tissue encased in a hard outer shell, so although they appear completely solid, the cells within are functioning and responding to their environment. For instance, bones strengthen to combat fractures when exposed to stress (such as weightlifting) and weaken when there is a lack of stress (such as bed rest). But, make no bones about it, each year approximately 10% of your skeleton renews itself. Source: The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons | Date Updated: June 24, 2020 See more
