Last day to see On the Turn: Selections from the Collection of Emily Fisher Landau! Jasper Johns, Light Bulb, 1967. The motif of a light bulb is very prevalent throughout Johns’s work. In fact, the first sculpture Johns made that was inspired by an everyday object was of a light bulb in 1958. Richard Prince, Untitled (Three Women’s Hands with Gloves), 1980. In this tryptic, Prince rephotographs black and white advertisements using color film, cropping them to center on three gloves that grasp at each of their wearer’s coats.
