May you have a blessed Easter! He is risen, indeed!

Lynbrook Baptist Church 17.04.2021

Dear Church family, Helen and I wish to extend a hearty Thank you for the retirement celebration Feb.28th. Even in spite of Covid restrictions, (which prevented real hugs and kisses), it was lovely. We want to thank you for the gifts and to especially thank those who contributed letters in the book of remembrances. The encouragement those letters brought blessed us very much and touched our hearts as we look back on our 11 years of ministry, our race at LBC. Now we b...egin a new chapter of our lives. The words of Shakespeare come to mind; Parting is such sweet sorrow. Retiring is sweet in that I felt it was time. Not only due to a health concern but also I felt the church needed a new, younger man with a different skill set to move ahead. So my retiring was for the good of the church and that made it sweet, for I always desired the best for LBC. But it is also a time of sorrow in that we will be leaving you. Our departure is not as dramatic as the Apostle Paul’s when he left the Ephesian elders in Acts 20:37-38, when they wept knowing they would never see him again. We are still around and will visit either in person or zoom and just a email, text or phone call away. But we will miss the fellowship and friends we had. We thank you for your loving support and your prayers these many years. Our Lord has been faithful to LBC for 107 years and will continue to be as you seek Him during this transition. Be encouraged in that He has great plans ahead, building on what all of us together have accomplished. We will be praying for you all. Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Love and peace in Christ, Pastor Bob & Helen

Pastor Bob concluded his sermon series The Bible and Race - From Every Nation (Part 3) on October 11. It has taken over a month to post this, but it is definitely worth the wait. Pastor Bob talks about the Curse On Ham, from Genesis 9, which has been used over the years to justify slavery, and he makes clear why this is a misinterpretation of the passage. May this message bless you. https://www.lynbrookbaptist.org//lbc-the-bible-and-race-pt3

Pastor's Update - November 2020 Well, the Presidential election is over - I think, well, maybe, pretty sure. It appears Joe Biden has won, but I can’t say with complete certainty. One thing I am certain about is this - God is still sovereign and rules the universe! As Dan.2:21 states of the Almighty; He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others....Continue reading
