Macedon Center Volunteer Fire Department

Yesterday the Macedon Center Fire Department lost one of our own. Dave Gawlik lost his battle with cancer after years of fighting. Dave had been a member for 12 years. He was always willing to help or to crack a joke, and even when he wasnt able to respond to calls, he would do all he could to help out at the hall. Dave never complained, even when things weren't going well. He was committed to doing all that he could for as long as he could. Our hearts go out to his family and friends, he will be missed. Rest easy Dave, we'll take it from here.

The annual New York State burn ban begins today and runs through May 14th. Conditions for wildfires are heightened in springtime when most #wildfires occur. The annual ban has decreased spring wildfires by nearly 43 % since 2009. More info: https://www.dec.ny.gov/press/122502.html
