A message from Midlakes Volleyball Camp: Hello Awesome Volleyball Peeps Looking forward to seeing all of you soon - I am hopeful.... So I have some bad news and some good news Bad news, public school gyms are not opening up in the next few weeks so vball camp will not be happening at Midlakes. So camps indoors at Midlakes the next two weeks are cancelled. No public school gyms, no indoor camps. Good news, we are going to try to host camp outdoors. We are working on making the arrangements currently and are hoping to run a two hour early evening camp (like 4 - 6 or 5 - 7) during the final weeks of August. We have 5 portable outdoor nets and believe we have a facility that can host us outdoors, just waiting to hear back. We will be limiting how many campers we take per court (cap will most likely be 14 - 16 kids per court) Being outdoors will allow us to social distance easily between courts. Once I have the plans finalized, I will send out the new dates, cost, time, and location......keep your fingers crossed that we can make this work on our end. Thanks for your understanding and flexibility at this time. I know everyone is itching to stretch their legs just like I am. I haven't stopped pushing to have camp yet. Update from Midlakes Volleyball Camp: CHANGE #1 FOR AUGUST SUMMER VOLLEYBALL CAMP FIRST WEEK OF SUMMER CAMP WILL BE AUG 10 - 14 SECOND WEEK OF SUMMER CAMP WILL BE AUG 17- 21... THERE WILL NO LONGER BE CAMP FROM AUG 3- 7 THIS IS BEING DONE TO FIT INTO THE GOVENOR'S TIMELINE FOR OPENING SCHOOLS BETTER. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL INCREASE OUR CHANCES OF HAVING TWO WEEKS OF CAMP. Here is a message we received from the Midlakes Volleyball Camp: Hey Volleyball Coaches, Players, Parents, and other volleyball enthusiasts Our plan is to still try to have summer camp in August as well as have our Youth Volleyball Program in Sept/Oct. We currently do not know all that may entail, but we do know there will be protocols and guidelines in some form. Things like:... ball cleaning between camps, masks when not playing, social distancing during instruction and down time, hand sanitizer dispensers, facility cleaning between camps, limited number of players per court, filling out of COVID info sheet each week of even each day for participants. We know this is going to be a different type of summer and fall for us all. We ask that you be flexible and understanding as we all go through this for the first time together. We are creating a new normal and it is going to take time and patience. If you are thinking of participating please sign up early in case the number of participants may be limited per court or even per gym. Also signing up early will allow us to communicate with you via email to relay guidelines and protocols as they are determined by the state and the school district If there are cost or transportation issues, please do not hesitate to reach out to me to see what we can work out. I did reduce the cost of summer camp this year, but I am well aware that many are have monetary issues due to all that is going on. Seneca Falls schools are OPEN for staff and students Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17. There was a report this morning by the NBC news channel in Syracuse that all Seneca County Schools are closed immediately. That is NOT accurate. We are open and running on time.
