White Castle is 100 years old this year! White Castle. The home of the little square hamburger is 100 years old this year. Hard to believe. Growing up in the Bronx on Arthur Avenue my brother and I lived on them. There was a White Castle (still there) around the corner from our home on Fordham Road. At night you can smell them cooking. We would climb the fence in the backyard, run through an empty lot and jump over a wall on to Hoffman Street. Run across the street grab... 10 or maybe 20 burgers (they were very expensive at the time. 8 each), sum fries and a Pepsi. Home we would go. Of course, we would both be sick to our stomachs a few hours later. But who cared? Beat eating the liver and lima beans our mother was making for dinner. Lol. Anyone else lived on them?

Over the years I have chaired a lot of golf outings. But, this is a first. I will be chairing the first Holiday Golf Outing for the National Lighthouse Museum. It will be a 9 hole outing on Friday, December 4th at 11:30. This should be a fun one. Maybe some cold weather, maybe a little snow flakes and lots of hot chocolate.
