Our youngest group of students have dove in to the wonderful world of Eric Carle We have a lot in common with this award winning author and illustrator: a love for great stories and beautifully creative art work!

Ah, 2020! Remember how it began? Unmasked, carefree, comfortable, and together. We went on field trips, we snuggled up close for story time, and we had an incredible fund raiser at @42northbrewing . It all seemed so easy. Then, along came COVID- and it brought along fear, the unknown, panic, and wonder. It changed everything we knew about teaching and learning. We couldn’t be together anymore and we couldn’t see our students? How would we survive? Well, we would rise up, M...andala style. We finished March, April, May, and June online with a virtual platform (one that is still raved about by parents and students). We held a two-week, in-person summer camp, safely, with @musejar . Finally, we returned in to Mandala, in-person, in September with a full roster. We practiced patience and kindness more than ever before, we learned in new ways, we had outdoor classrooms, and we had masks for everyone, ages 4-70. We still learned math, reading, writing, science, history, philosophy, and we still practiced art and music. We still cooked and baked; we even went camping; we read stories; we climbed trees; we played games; we taught each other; we laughed and we cried; we were kind to everyone; and WE SURVIVED 2020!!!
