September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month. Please join us for the 10th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Buffalo-Niagara Car/Truck and Bike Show on Saturday September 25th. Hosted by MANUP Buffalo, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and sponsored by West Herr Automotive Group! We call it, ‘The car show that saves lives’ because it’s also about Prostate Cancer Awareness! Roswell Park will offer a Free and Complete Prostate Cancer Early Detection Exam by its World Class Urol...ogist. A few things men should know as to why they should take advantage of this event. Age 50 for men who are at average risk of prostate cancer and are expected to live at least 10 more years. Age 45 for men at high risk of developing prostate cancer. This includes African Americans and men who have a first-degree relative (father or brother) diagnosed with prostate cancer at an early age (younger than age 65). Age 40 for men at even higher risk (those with more than one first-degree relative who had prostate cancer at an early age). Come on fella’s, MANUP! Take care of yourself, so you can be around to take care of those who love you.

As we approach September, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to remind men that this disease, if caught early, is almost always treatable. Please talk to your doctor to find out when a prostate exam might be right for you.
