Spring is in the air and we all know what that means Sugaring Time This year will be much different with the passing of Don, but we promise to proudly carry on his legacy of making Maple Syrup. We will be in the woods all weekend tapping the trees and we are hoping for a great season. As you all know last year we had to cancel our Maple Open House for the first time in over 20 years due to the pandemic, we felt it was in the best interest for everyone. Unfortunately ...we’re finding ourselves to have to cancel this year‘s Open House as well. We always have a very large turn out and we are still in this pandemic, we feel this decision is in the best interest for us and our community. What we would like to offer is a curbside pick up. Next week we will post a date, time and details. This will be for Maple Products only. We are hoping this pandemic will be a thing of the past very soon and we can once again have our yearly open house with all of our dedicated hard-working vendors. Until then we will do our part to keep everyone healthy. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the owner and founder of Maple Valley Farm, Don Monica. Everyone who knew Don knew his love of making maple syrup. Every spring you would find him at the sugarhouse boiling well into the evening the many gallons of sap collected that day, how proud he must be to see his two son’s Tim and Scott and his granddaughter Abby carry on the family tradition. The family would like to thank the community for the support you have... given us over the years and continue to support us as we carry on his legacy. He leaves behind his wife, three sons and two daughter-in-law‘s, five grandchildren and two great granddaughters,and many many family and friends who will miss him dearly. In memory of Don‘s legacy please feel free to share any pictures you may have from over the years. Rather it may be from the Maple Open House, Saratoga County fair or the many farmers markets he always loved to attend. Until we meet again. See you in the Sugarbush See more
