Yes, we’re OPEN - for both cooking classes and guest stays at the b&b! We have always taken our cleaning and guest comfort very seriously, and through the Coronavirus pandemic we have been researching best practices to ensure that not only our guests stay healthy, but that Jake and I do too. Therefore, in compliance with CDC guidelines, we have implemented the following practices to our already stringent cleaning requirements in order to reduce the possibility of transmission...: Cooking Classes: At this time only private group classes will be scheduled. This is basically like a party with all of your friends without you having to worry about a single thing, other than who’s bringing the booze! You’ll see us using disinfectant wipes to wipe down commonly touched surfaces Hand sanitizer will be available for your use throughout the class Masks must be worn at all times, except for when you’re eating I will do my best to respect social distancing while still ensuring everyone’s safety and instructing as needed B&B: At all times, a social distance of at least six feet among guests and myself will be enforced to avoid direct contact as much as possible You’ll see us using disinfectant wipes to wipe down commonly touched surfaces Masks must be worn at all times except for in your guestroom Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the b&b for your use Décor has been streamlined to allow for sanitizing between guests. Items that are difficult to sanitize, such as decorative pillows and throws from the beds have been removed. There will be two seating times for breakfast as well as the option of a to-go breakfast It’s been a difficult time for the whole world, and we hope that your time at Maple Rock will help to ease the stress you’ve endured over the past few months. At home paint & sip birthday party for my sister in law today. We queued up Bob Ross and just went with it, had some yummy tapas and a salty caramel honey pie for dessert. Covid doesn’t have to ruin birthdays, you just have to get a little creative!

On Monday afternoons I try to play cribbage with my grandma. If you’ve never played cribbage, it is all math. As someone who failed their 9th grade math regents it’s a struggle to say the least At 90 years old, my grandma kicks my butt. If you’ve played cribbage tell me your secrets, I need to win at least once!

After a busy few days it was so nice to have these two make brunch!

Here's the big reveal for one of the surprises we posted about a few weeks ago...my brother and sister-in-law are expecting!! I found out by accident in September and was asked to not say anything until they could deliver the news to family in person. It was pure torture to not tell anyone. Word of wisdom: if you want to keep a secret be careful what pictures you upload to joint family photo albums Huge thank you to Sergi's Potsdam Italian Restaurant Pizzeria & Banquet Hall for their help in creating the perfect pizza to surprise our parents with!
