2021 is hours away and there is an expectation that good things will happen, like the vaccine and an ability to travel again. But, most good things will happen because we did something to make them happen. We will have to get out of our comfort zone, show up, take a bold step, try something new, remain curious and learn from our mistakes. Doing pull-ups may not be your thing but setting some reasonable goals and acting on them will ensure that the New Year is what you want it to be.

It's Thanksgiving, and, for the first time in 93 years, there won't be a Macy's Day Parade with big colorful balloons and floats stretching block after block to inspire, amaze and entertain us. But, we are all blessed with the POWER to IMAGINE. Nothing - not even Covid-19 - can take that away from us. Enjoy this power. Indeed, take advantage of this power; it has the ability to inspire, amaze and entertain us today and everyday!

Covid has imposed enormous burdens on millions of people around the world. But, one thing that's easier for many now is attending a far-away wedding via zoom, even while enjoying a walk in the park or a day at the beach with friends. A year ago, this would have been unheard of and unacceptable. What else falls into this silver lining category for you? Share it, if you're willing.

As we celebrate July 4th, we realize that leadership can take many different forms. We can stand by our presidents, or not, because we live in the USA. May our democracy continue to thrive and may our freedoms never be taken for granted.

Is there a bridge that can unite us over this Fourth of July weekend? Probably not. But, being the architects of our own bridges, even if it's to connect with one person over the holiday weekend, could make a big difference in the health of this nation.

Growth as human beings comes from trying new things and getting out of our default patterns of behavior. We don't have to leap into the abyss on a hang glider. But, with grit, we must push ourselves out of our comfort zone and stay curious on the journey.
