New videos we have been working on with Hudson Valley Reptile and Rescue.
Someone has a full belly. Everglades rat snake ( Pantherophis alleghaniensis)
Hard to believe they start out at only 8 inches in length and grow to near 15 feet. Live gator is about 24 inches. Skull is from a 10 foot long gator. American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) Tonight’s show at Rocking Horse Ranch
A baby northern water snake enjoying its water bowl like a water snake should. These snakes are common through out New Yok and can be seen in any body of water. They can reach around 40 in length. Water snakes are non-venomous and feed on small fish and frogs. As they get older their color will become brown with reddish brown bands. They are often misidentified as copperheads. Sometimes people will call them water moccasins. However water moccasin aka cottonmouths do not live in New York.
