Lucy Cadou Painting Canfield Casino Saratoga Springs Lucy Cadou Kettlewell (American 1929-2004) After studying art and acting at the Chicago Art institute and Emerson College in Boston, Lucy Cadou Kettlewell and her husband James arrived in Saratoga Springs in 1958. James Kettlewell taught art history at Skidmore while Lucy became serious about painting, finding herself inspired by the architecture around her. As urban renewal began taking down historic districts she and Jame...s became devoted to saving what was left. Lucy painted in the early morning and evening because of the warm light and beautiful shadow effects. She later moved to Middle Grove living in an old school house and painted the rural landscape. The last 7 years of her life were spent in Camden, Maine. She passed away in 2004. This is a first edition publishing of Screen Tests/ A Diary by Gerard Malanga and Andy Warhol. Malanga and Warhol worked together from 1963 to 1970, during Warhol's peak. They created a series of "screen tests", which consisted of 3-minute black and white film portraits of various New York City cultural icons. During the filming, the subjects attempted to sit still for the duration, creating a new nearly still moving portrait. This book, published by Kulchur Press, represent...s a selection of stills taken from these films, paired with poetry by Melanga.
