Student Spotlight! (2 of 3) While Stacey says she expected to learn things like juggling and clowning, our PS 32 Circus After School teaching artists were definitely not expecting Stacey’s commitment to the craft! Recently Stacey surprised the entire class by showing up in full clown costume and make-up to a synchronous lesson. And in turn, Stacey says class has surprised her by showing how we can use ordinary things in our homes to do fun things. The photo is a screen shot o...f a zoom lesson. The spotlighted student appears in the majority of the screen. We see her face, which is made up in clown make-up: white around her eyes, with painted on black eyebrows, pink cheeks, white around her mouth, which is outlined in red, red lips, red nose, and three black freckles on each cheek. She is wearing a pink wig with bangs. She is smiling! Above the student are 6 smaller zoom boxes with other class attendees. See more

Student Spotlight! (1 of 3) A year after arts education was forced to do an about face, one student in Brooklyn is taking full advantage of all that our virtual programs have to offer. When Stacey signed up for Circus After School at PS 32 in Carroll Gardens, she hoped to have fun and learn new things. Her creativity started with well throughout responses; including, this clown design she posted during an asynchronous assignment, and has been growing every since! The phot...o is a screen shot of a computer drawing of a clown character featuring blue hair pulled up in two high ponytails with purple scrunchies, one on each side, blue eye make-up, pink circle cheeks, red and white mouth, and a red circle nose. The clown is wearing a red shirt with yellow polka dots. The written description included with the drawing says: My clown would be jubilant! cheerful! She would always wear a big smile and would be clumsy and silly but would always learn to laugh and look at the bright side See more
