Team Carillo sold two houses last week, sight unseen. We were able to navigate through all the questions by exchanging pictures of heating systems, air conditi...oning units and other areas of concern. So, when the sale of a home is truly essential it can still get done! Yesterday, the State advised the realtor community that our non essential business status was reversed to essential. In the peak of a pandemic, with a Tsunami on the way, approximately 40,000 realtors in our MLS community are asked to safely return to work. I am outraged by this decision that puts the agents, our clients, and our families at risk. 1000 people died in one day in the US, which doubles the highest flu rate & no one is exempt. The individual actions of every person will affect many others with Even Vacant homes not safe to show Who was there before you, who sneezed or coughed on a surface, what did they touch, and did they strictly follow all safety guidelines? This virus can shed well in advance of any symptoms and it lives on a variety of surfaces. The order will pull more vital supplies from the medical community and other essential workers, as well as increase liabilities for realtors & real estate companies across the board. Many speculate the order came as the result of a mass group of realtors filing for unemployment support. This may very well be a problem but returning to the field in the eye of a Pandemic is not the solution. Team Carillo is open for business but we will never exchange the safety of our relationships for a pay check. If it is truly essential that you sell your home, price it right and it WILL sell without anyone having to put themselves at risk!
