On the night of June 29th, 2019, tragedy has struck our small ayrshire farm in northern New York. A series of severe storms came through our area and took down a tree which fell on the power line to our dairy barn. It caused stray voltage to reek havoc in the barn. We had to say goodbye to 7 of our girls. It would have been more if not for the courageous efforts of Cody. He saved the rest of the herd and was not harmed. Thank you to Remi Bell and Taylor Shampine for the suppo...rt and calling 911. We would like to thank the Gouverneur Fire Department for clearing the area and National Grid for making it safe so we could put our lost girls to rest. Also a big thank you to Dylan Horton for helping putting them to rest and Dan Desormeaux for also helping. It takes a village to keep these family farms going and we thank everyone for the help or kind words. Fly high girls, say hello to Aunt Flora Jean, Sunny, and Allison, I'm sure Harry will be checking up on you as well.

At Matoon Pond Farm our girls don't get 3 square meals a day like people, they prefer round ones and thanks to Mike Countryman for getting our baling tractor up to snuff we can provide our girls with quality baleage. Happy Harvest everyone!

With heavy hearts we say see you later to a great man, fellow farmer, friend, mentor, and the most recognizable face at our county fair. Harry Parow was a person that can never get replaced and never will be. Matoon Pond Farm would love to see Harry walk in our barn to see our cows or to see him ring side at our fair. He will now have the best seat in the house to watch all the shows. Till we meet again our friend! If you have a Harry Parow story or memory please feel free to share as we remember this great man.
