Maxs Kansas City Project 09.11.2020

the Artist Relief Fund (an emergency initiative consisting of a number of national arts grantmakers), is offering $5,000 grants to practicing artists residing and working in any of the 50 U.S. states or surrounding territories for the past two years that are 18 or older and can demonstrate financial need due to the pandemic. A number of disciplines are eligible for this grant, including musicians, dancers, and performers. To meet increasing need, the Artist Relief Fund has nearly doubled its initial $10 million initiative and will continue grantmaking through December 2020.

This program will provide one-time $1,000 grants to artists working in craft disciplines who are facing dire circumstances due to food, housing, and/or health insecurities. The application is live, and the submission deadline is 5:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, September 9.

A new altruistic endeavor by Ryan Reynolds in case you know someone who might want to apply Ryan Reynolds has launched a self-funded diversity and inclusion program called "The Group Effort Initiative." In a video announcement posted to YouTube Friday, Reynolds, 43, explained the program's goal is to give people from marginalized communities the opportunity to work on and learn from his productions.... He explained the 10 to 20 trainees will include BIPOC as well as people from other marginalized communities across the age spectrum.

First Cycle of CERF+'s COVID-19 Relief Grant for Artists Closes at 5 PM ET on Wednesday, 7/29/20 This is a friendly reminder that there is one week left to apply for the first cycle of CERF+'s COVID-19 Relief Grant.... The COVID-19 Relief Grant will provide one-time $1,000 grants to artists working in craft disciplines who are facing dire food, housing, and medical insecurities caused by the pandemic. Priority will be given to eligible artists who have traditionally been underserved by the grantmaking community, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and folk and traditional artists. The second cycle will open for applications on Wednesday, August 19, and close on September 9. Please share this announcement with your networks so that we can reach as many artists as possible.

On the Actor's Fund website for LA residents This week, eligible Los Angeles residents can apply online for the Los Angeles City Emergency Renters Assistance Subsidy Program. The application will remain open through Friday, July 17 at 11:59 pm PT, and will provide a temporary rent subsidy for eligible residential tenants in the City of Los Angeles who are unable to pay rent due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible renters can receive a grant of up to $1,000 per month to cover the monthly lease rent, with a maximum of $2,000 per household. The rent subsidy will be paid directly to the tenant’s landlord on the tenant’s behalf.

NYFA Community: Gabriella Calandro, Director of NYFA Grants, will host an information session on the The Tri-State Relief Fund to Support Non-Salaried Workers in the Visual Arts tomorrow, May 28 at 12:30 PM EDT in anticipation of the third application cycle opening on Tuesday, June 2. As a reminder, the Tri-State Fund will distribute one-time unrestricted cash grants of $2,000 each to freelance, contract, or non-salaried archivists, art handlers, artist/fine art photographer’s assistants, cataloguers, database specialists, digital assets specialists, image scanners/digitizers, and registrars. Applicants must show proof of residency in Connecticut, New Jersey, and/or New York from the last two years. They must also have a minimum of three years experience in the aforementioned behind-the-scenes roles in the visual arts, and be able to show proof of critical financial need due to loss of income directly related to the COVID-19 crisis.
