In our most recent elementary enrichment session, we continued our conversation on leadership. We categorized different ways in which we see leadership in real life or fiction and then decided if they were under celebrity or leader. We explored 19th century artist Mary Cassatt today. Mary was one of the world's finest impressionists. As a humanities- based Montessori, we encourage children to create and study the arts. Today we made a delicious Victorian era recipe called Balmoral Shortbread which was noted to be from the personal kitchen of Queen Victoria! We also made a vegan rosemary version. The children hand-wrote the recipes to take home with their shortbread.
