The panel, including distinguished civil rights attorney Elliot Dolby Shields, as well as experienced and zealous criminal defense attorneys Jessica Naclerio and William Weir, will provide an overview of the law as it applies to protest-related criminal cases, t...he groundwork to challenge criminal charges under state and federal law, and provide an overview of constitutional challenges in criminal and civil court. The panel will also discuss the interplay between criminal law and civil law in protest-related cases including issue spotting, collateral consequences, and ethical obligations.
