Many national parks have direct connections to the American militarythere are dozens of battlefields, military parks, and historic sites that commemorate and h...onor the service of American veterans. National parks and our programs and partners also offer endless opportunities for today's military, veterans, and their families to enjoy their public lands and their own neighborhoods. Did you know active duty military and their dependents are eligible for free America the Beautiful Passes to national parks and federal recreation areas? A new pass program also grants U.S. military veterans and Gold Star Families free access to national parks.
