What a day!! Spent the morning with the County Executive launching a gift card match program to support local restaurants and I joined fellow legislators midday... to give away 1,000 boxes of food from Food Bank of Central New York!! I am thankful to be able to give back to our community, especially in these times!

When I was on the Common Council and the Hiawatha lake waters were very low, we noticed a lot of structural deterioration in the historic stone work. Neighbors ...were posting pictures of the crumbling lake walls and were very alarmed. Almost immediately I received a phone call from Ryan McMahon who was serving on the County Legislature at the time. He told me that he was going to find a way to help. At that time, as you my recall, the City administration was hardly even on speaking terms with the County Administration. There were political rifts and personal rifts.. it was not a time of great collaboration. For Ryan, despite these issues, constituents came first. He found $200,000.00 to put toward the wall repair. The funds were not joyfully received at the time, but we waited it out a bit and new leadership took over and we were not only able to put the funds toward the repair of this important piece of historic landscape architecture, but we were able to leverage those funds to apply for and receive a grant that more than doubled the funds for the repair work and ongoing maintenance of the Hiawatha lake structure. People come first to Ryan. Always. He truly works in politics to serve the people and he is very good at it. Our county is in good hands. If you are not comfortable voting on the Republican party line, you can Vote for Ryan on the Indepence Party line...but My recommendation is to Vote for Ryan! McMahon For Onondaga County
