Minor baby fever over here. Just look at those cheeksand while you’re at it, peep the most adorable onesie (made by @melanin_makes). We’ve taken some much needed time away from social media and have been working on new products during our little hiatus; including baby onesies like the one shown here #melaninmakes #melaninmagic #makersgonnamake #cricutmade #cricutcrafts #cutebabies #babyclothes #mamassunshine #melaninmade #shopnow #likecommentfollow #share
I’ve also been playing around with my new knitting machine. And I must say, I’m loving the results. These earwarmers and beanies feel amazingly warm and plush. The embellishments add an extra touch of luxurious-ness, like a scalp massage ... #melaninmakes #melanincreates #crochetartist #melaninmaker #blackgirlcrochet #crochetersofinstagram #yarnhoarder #makerofthings #winteraccessories #valentinesday #feelthelove #loveisintheair #hisandhers #crochethomedecor #crochetaccessories #allseasoncrochet #blackandproud #blackgirlmagic
Haven’t posted in a long while...but I’ve still been working. Hope you all had a great holiday, are consistently working on your new year goals, and are being the best versions of yourselves!! A recent order for a coworker who just had a baby girl. Ribbed hat with removable fur pompom, booties and mittens ... #melaninmakes #melanincreates #crochetartist #melaninmaker #blackgirlcrochet #crochetersofinstagram #yarnhoarder #makerofthings #crochetfortinyhumans #crochetbabyitems #crochethomedecor #crochetaccessories #allseasoncrochet #blackandproud #blackgirlmagic
Although it’s Tuesday, (and I totally skipped last week’s #makermonday) I still wanted to put share some of my fave makers! I’ve tagged 6 makers this time to make up for missing last week. Check my stories and highlights for more info!
Taking a stroll down memory lane today and looking at pics of my work from 3-4 years ago...(back when I was Carla’s Creations). Love seeing how far I’ve come with my creativity and execution. Looking forward to the next few years of growth.
It is #wipwednesday y’all and I’m finally working on something crochet-related!!! I am currently testing the Pillow Hearts Blanket for Yarn hook needles My youngest chose the colors I’m using so I guess she already claimed this one for herself
Today is the first Monday of February, and the first day of my #makermonday series. I will be tagging my favorite makers, dyers, designers, etc. in my posts and my stories. First up are @naturallydanielle_ @offthehook.flyy and @imdayarnwhisperer from South Carolina, the UK and Washington D.C. respectively. These three women are truly inspirational in the way they take their craft seriously. Their creativity is unique and dope af. Check out their pages if you haven’t already, and follow them if you don’t.
Super late with this one (wanted to post it this morning but life) February is here and with it comes a fresh slate, new opportunities and BLACK HISTORY MONTH!!! I’m excited to see what this month has in store for me! Comment below and share what you love about February!!
Happy Monday makers!!! On this final Monday of January, I wanted to pop in and share a few more fun facts about myself. 1) My favorite make(s) so far would be anything I’ve made for my girls. I absolutely love creating for them because they look so adorable in handmade. 2) My reason for making is to share my creativity and love of crafting with others. I’ve always had a passion for all things artistic and appreciate being able to document my journey as I continue to grow an...d learn. 3) My next short-term yarn-y goal is to learn to knit. I have wanted to try knitting for a few years now but always get overwhelmed when it comes time to start. Looking forward to finally achieving this goal! What are some short term goals you want to achieve? Comment below and let’s discuss! See more
#ThrowbackThursday Taking it all the way back to mid 2010 when I first learned to crochet! I was a new mom and struggling to find myself. Fell down a YouTube rabbit hole and came out the other end with a less clean version of this cardigan. But I loved it and was so proud of my accomplishment! Over the last decade, I’ve grown tremendously as a fiber artist and as a mother (that second kid is no joke ). But I often take a moment to look back at where I started from and what I’ve been through. Excited to continue learning and growing, and I’m thankful to be able to share my journey. Growth is inevitable, so embrace it!
day is here which means that we’ve survived half the work week. Lol. Here’s to almost Friday I’m currently working on being more organized and planning out my days. Comment below and tell us what you’re currently working on!?!
