Annnnnnd she’s off to her new home!! Our 1996 Simon Duplex Tower Ladder that has served the Merrick Community for 20 plus years, left this morning for Vine Grove, Kentucky. The Officers and Members of Merrick Truck Co. 1 wish the very best for the Flathery Fire Department with their new delivery!!

In honor of #nationalpoliceweek2021 , we would like to recognize our brothers and sisters in blue at the Nassau County Police Department and New York State Police who we work alongside with everyday to help keep our communities safe. Thank you and stay safe!

2nd mutual aid fire in a week, for the members at Merrick Truck. Ladder 6412 was alerted this morning to assist the Roosevelt Fire Department. Members made an aggressive interior attack to start primary searches on the 1st and 2nd floors. Shortly after, firefighters were pulled out of the house for a defensive attack due to the amount of fire. **Working Fire** Last night, Merrick Truck was called to assist the Freeport Fire Department. Truck 6411 responded as a working truck to this house fire at the intersection of N.Brookside and Maxson Ave’s. It was a busy morning for the members of Merrick Truck Company. At approximately 1:10am, Truck Company was alerted for a mutual aid to the Roosevelt Fire Department. Truck 6411 was assigned as the second due working truck. The crew of 6411 performed primary searches on the fire floor, members were also sent to the roof to cut for vertical ventilation. Great job by multiple fire agencies. At 8:08am Ladder 6412 responded to a reported auto accident with entrapment and fire on the Meadowbrook State Parkway.
