Treatment of root canals can be quite complex. The following is a preop and post op of a treatment case where the patient presented with pain and swelling. Fortunately, there was a fourth canal located and treated along with optimal treatment of the tooth. Not every case referred has an easy diagnosis. This patient was referred from her periodontist with pain in the lower right area and for an eval of the shadow near the implant and tooth #29. Upon testing the tooth which responded to cold it was determined that the shadow was related to the implant. The patient previously had an implant in this location which failed.
