Great to see so many people speaking out against CPV and the Millennium Pipeline last night. Our voices were heard! The Wawayanda Town Board is currently looking to hire an independent company to monitor the emissions from the CPV plant and CPV will be held financially responsible for all testing. There will be a mobile testing unit as well as one that will be stationary to record levels in the area so long as the plant is in operation. This is thanks to the people of Protect Orange County organizing and putting the pressure on the town board. It may be a small victory, but it shows that we as a community standing together can make progress happen.

The unofficial results are in. The incumbent will remain in office receiving 30 more votes than myself. I appreciate all the people who have reached out to me in the past week wishing me well in the absentee vote count, as well as those who congratulated me on running this campaign. It pains me that we were so close to bringing a change to this township and fell short. I want to specifically thank my running mates: Jennifer McCarthy, Charles Nuara, and Randy Hurst and their ...families; as well as Dot and Greg Winner, Maddie Shaw, and Marina Cramer whom kept the spirit of Waydems alive! I have to thank Dalton Valette for volunteering on the campaign from afar. Your political knowledge was crucial for editing campaign posts and literature. I met so many wonderful people during this election cycle who have the best interest of the community at heart. It was great to have Britta of the Greenville Dems, Ken Pinkela of Mt. Hope, Patricia McMillan of Warwick, Brett Broge and Mickey Morgano of the County Democratic Committee, Assemblymen James Skoufis, and Louise Vandemark and Sue Baron at the Board of elections on the team to answer any and all questions I had for them. Thank you to all my friends and family that also supported me in this race. There are too many too name! I am also in debt to all the employees at Wayback Burgers who stepped up while I was busy running off to meetings and campaigning. I couldn't have done this without you guys. I must also thank my family. Mom, Gene, Brooke, and Shawn I thank you for your support from the day I first started getting signatures for petitions until this morning awaiting to hear the final numbers. Dad, I thank you for all of the critical insight you gave me on running the campaign in a town you ran in 11 election cycles yourself, you are a priceless asset to any campaign in this town. A special thank you to the members of the Slate Hill Fire Department that supported me, as well as the Minisink Valley Faculty and staff. Lastly, I must thank Dallas, my better half. You were so patient with me these past eight months. I don't know how I will ever repay you. I am truly sorry I couldn't bring home a win as a way to repay all of you for the help. It was an honor to receive the endorsement of both the Democratic Party and the Women's Equality Party. I will remain on as the Chair of the Wawayanda Democratic Committee and as a member of the Wawayanda Limited Development Corporation. Nearly one thousand of you believed in me and I will continue to serve this town in the capacity that I can. I will keep on fighting for the people of this town as long as I live here. Thank you for the chance to be your Supervisor, but thank you more for inspiring me to always put service above self. Sincerely, Michael K. Green Jr.

Thank you to all who came out and voted yesterday. We sent a message to the administration of this town. Voter turnout was up from 2 years ago for Wawayanda. The unofficial results have me 34 votes behind, but there are still absentee ballots to be counted. The final numbers will most likely be reported on Tuesday of next week. It’s an uphill battle, but there is still a chance. I will update this page as results come in. Thank you to everyone who cast a ballot in my name. It’s humbling to know how many of you believed in me to bring change to this town.
