Volunteer opportunities for this week: Farrier day is Monday! 9-3 Volunteers are needed to catch and hold the horses while they get their hooves trimmed. ... We still need help with hippotherapy on Wednesday. We need volunteers to lead the horses around and some to walk beside the horses while the clients ride and do therapy. Volunteer opportunities this week: Most days of the week Grooming Horses Volunteers may come out and groom some of the 17 horses. When you first come out, you will need to call to schedule when you are coming so we can be sure to have an Associate available to teach you the routine and documentation when grooming the horses. All Wednesdays throughout the day Hippotherapy Volunteers are needed every Wednesday to assist with the Hippotherapy sessions which are scheduled throughout the day starting at 9:00 am and ending at 5:30 pm. Volunteers can assist by getting the horses groomed before the session and helping to get them tacked up with the appropriate gear, be the horse handler during a session (must be 18 years of age), or be a side walker during the session (must be 14 years of age). Sessions are for 30 minutes each, and during sometimes we have 2 clients, so 9:00, 10:00, 10:30, 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30, & 5:00pm Tuesday, May 11, 2021 @ 1:30pm Beaumont Health Care Stable-Spirit will be bringing a couple of horses to the Beaumont Health Care Facility @ 795 Lindbergh in Beaumont to allow the residents there to pet and brush a horse. Volunteers are needed to come to the stables around 12:45pm to help load the horses, then go to Beaumont Health Care Facility for the event, and then return to assist with unloading the horses. Friday, May 14, 2021 from 9:00am 2:00pm Southeast Texas Stand Down for Veterans @ Port Arthur Civic Center Stable-Spirit will have a table at this event to give out our information about the services we have to offer for Veterans. Volunteers are needed to sit at the table and give out our brochures and discuss the potential for services for those Veterans in attendance. If you cannot stay the whole day, even a 1 or 2 hour shift will assist us in having someone at the table the whole time. Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10am 2 pm Family Fun Day at the Museum of the Gulf Coast, Port Arthur, TX The Museum of The Gulf Coast will be hosting their Family Fun Day. Stable-Spirit will be bringing 1 or 2 horses, depending on the number of Volunteers available, to allow those attending to pet, brush and take pictures with the horses. We will also be giving out information about our services and volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are needed to be with the horses for those attending to be up close and personal with the horses, as well as to be at the table with the Stable-Spirit information to be handed out.

For years I proudly have been producing, staffing, and showcasing Houstonians at our independent camping/music festival called River Revival in New Braunfels at... summer’s end. This year leading up to Sept we have a 4 month, free concert series called ‘The Road to River Revival'. I finally get to share the magic we create on the river with my hometown in downtown at Historic Market Square Houston. From the Guadalupe River to the Buffalo Bayou...
