Many thanks to our amazing volunteers who came out and planted 120 trees at Wolf Creek Falls Preserve yesterday! Wolf Creek is a tributary of (or flows into) the Bozen Kill and then continues into the Watervliet Reservoir, which serves as a drinking water source. Improving filtration and preventing erosion along streams not only helps water quality for people but also provides habitat benefits for wildlife. The trees and shrubs planted are native with some providing fruit, some providing shelter, and some becoming home to lots of caterpillars and bugs to feed the birds in the area. Join our team of volunteers! Sign up at https://mohawkhudson.org/volunteer/

Take a closer look at this deer roaming the Ashford Glen Preserve. Emerging antlers are a unique sign of spring! After a sustained drop in testosterone, deer shed their antlers in the winter. Their antlers regrow each season from spring through late summer. #TrailCamTuesday #MHLC
