More geese! little ones getting a beach tour today

Each year at this time, the Town of Yorktown hosts the annual "Battle of Yorktown," a neighborhood cleanup day. This year it is on April 24th,and the Mohegan Colony Association will be participating. The Mohegan Colony Association will be picking up litter on the Colony streets in Yorktown, in our beach parking lot, and in the beach area. Volunteers are needed to help out. Please come down to the beach parking lot at the end of Oak Street at 10 A.M. on Saturday April 24t...h. We will have orange garbage bags, reflective vests, and a limited number of litter grabbers. Let's get ready for the beach season. Believe it or not, it's not very far away. Also, if anyone is interested, the Mohegan Lake Improvement District needs volunteers to clean up Mohegan Avenue between CVS and the Faith Bible Church at 1 P.M. That gateway to the Mohegan Lake community off of Route 6 is heavily littered. Then, at 3:00 P.M. we will meet at Horton and Cabot to clean up the hiking trail in Rock Hill Park, as well as the perimeter of the park on Horton, Cabot and Decatur. If you haven't hiked the trail at Rock Hill Park, now's your chance for a guided tour.

Spring is in the air. Beach is looking great , the water is clear and the playground and swings already have seen plenty of action with the recent good weather. Looking forward to catching up with everyone on Beach Set Up Day. Mark the date - May 22nd 10am!

Hello, friends. Yes, that wonderful time will be here before we know it, that amazing day when we will put out the rafts, spruce everything up, and get ready for summer fun. Plan on a 10 a.m. start on Saturday, May 22 (rain date, May 23). We’ll be weeding and cleaning things up inside and out, so remember to bring work gloves, wheelbarrows, tools to dig weeds, maybe a broom, anything else you can think of. Remember: MASKS ARE REQUIRED and we'll do our best to maintain social... distance as well. See you then!
