Site visiting the Spring Tea participating community gardens and interviewing in the past three days... I feel the needs to sit down and look at the leaves gardener Stacy passed to me to smell. I remembered the sincerity I felt through that couple of seconds, like many cups and bowls we exchanged in all these years, like the crispy bread a stranger on the train broke off for my hungry kids, and the fruit vendor’s offer of melon in the oasis... I don’t know how to word out wha...t I want to say. I could only try my best with everyone involving in the Spring Tea project to do our best with what we have for everyone. For the human connection we all appreciate and need in order to feel alive exists in every corner around us. Maybe it is not that difficult to find. . Bring your own tea, join us on June 5th if you are near any of the community gardens, or make it an adventure:-). FREE RSVP events. More info and register at @teaartsculture . If you have the @yuko_nishikawa Squish cups/vase from last Summer Tea, bring it and see how many of them can connect back together! . . Views from one side of the @eastsideoutsidegarden in 1980, 1990 and now. Looking at the community gardens around us, these once vacant lots are not just visual reminders of how the communities shape through time, they are also sentimentally connected to the members and the communities in the past and now. In many cases, it is about the connection with our individual food culture, about our memories of family and friends, about hard working and be in touch with nature. All of ...them make us feel whole and grounded. . . Bring your own tea to enjoy in which ever way you want to do and experience the moments with the beautiful connections our world is offering. Not too far, near you and me. . . Not to miss June 5 at 2pm @eastsideoutsidegarden Artists: @umekado @testucollective @emuaudiovisual @insomniachotel . . Free RSVP event @teaartsculture . . I wrote and rewrote this many times. Trying to find the right words to tell everyone here that we have set up and organization for tea arts and culture now. Yet, I know words can never say proficiently what I want to say, and an organization can never do enough for the world. When we get the tea brewing for more, when we hear more laughters in the world through te, when we see more glows in one’s eyes with tea, and when we carry one more tool for the generations after us to appreciate the planet we live, I know we are doing something matters. All could be helped with continuing cultivating and promoting the tea arts and culture. I invite everyone here who see this to join us for this journey. Follow @teaartsculture and let’s see what we can create together.
