This is a great time to pick up a scary new Young Adult novel, and here are a couple recommendations. Call the library at 428-8202 if you would like to check out one of these. In Aiden Thomas' debut novel, The Cemetery Boys, a young Latinx accidentally summons a ghost. The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher is folkloric horror with a modern twist.
Three new Young Adult verse novels available now at the Monroe Branch. Call 428-8202 if you would like to check one of these out.
October 27 is National Black Cat Day.
A seasonal look for Monroe!
As November approaches, it's time to start raking and collecting leaves before the snow! See below for City of Rochester leaf collection schedules. (This is for 2020 even though the headline is 2019). As an alternative plan, if you are interested and able, create a Brush and Leaf Shelter in your backyard. Please don't forget to jump in them and/or do fun fall projects with them first! https://www.cityofrochester.gov/leaves/ https://www.nwf.org/Garden-for-Wil//Brush-and-Leaf-Shelter https://teachingmama.org/8-leaf-activities-for-preschoolers/
Librarian Betsy Gilbert works at her desk in 1995. She has a desktop computer and a laptop! #TBT
Books ought to be exempt from the KonMari Method.
Rochester's favorite blue bag with the red handle is coming soon to all city libraries! Stay posted for details and availability of Raising a Reader Bags at the Monroe Branch.
