Ready to see some great tennis? This weekend, Monroe Tennis Club will be hosting the first circuit of the Hudson Valley Showdown Tournament. Play will begin Friday at 5:00 PM for Men's Open Singles. Men's Open Singles will continue on Saturday, starting at 8:00 AM, with the Men's Open Doubles Quarterfinals and Mixed Doubles Semi and Finals taking place in the afternoon. On Sunday, the Men's Open Semifinals, Men's Doubles Final and Men's Open Final will take place. Lights! As mentioned in the season opening letter, the board unanimously voted to replace our aging metal halide lights with new, efficient LED lights. The lights were installed on Wednesday and difference was instantly recognizable. Corners of the court that were previously dark are now sufficiently illuminated and glare is significantly reduced. We all look forward to enjoying the new lights this season during individual play or during one of our multiple mixers. The installation of the new lights is just one of many steps planned to grow and improve our already great club.
