Monsignor Scanlan mourns the passing of our former principal Sr. Eileen Clifford. Sr. Eileen passed away this morning - after a long illness - in the Siena Hall infirmary at the Dominican Convent at Sparkill. Sr. Eileen was a Bronx native and a graduate of St. Jean Batiste High School in NYC. She made her first Profession of Vows as a Dominican Sister in 1957. Sr. Eileen has assumed many key roles at St. Helena/Monsignor Scanlan High School. She was a teacher, Assistant Pr...incipal and Dean of Students, Principal, and was a Monsignor Scanlan Board member for many years since its inception. In 2016 Sr. Eileen Clifford was inducted into the St. Helena/Monsignor Scanlan H.S. Hall of Fame as a St. Helena Award recipient! In memory of Sr. Eileen Clifford, a Scholarship Fund has been created in her name.

Class of 2020, As today should be a joyous day of celebration, I wanted to show you that I am thinking about you today. I am extremely proud of each and every one of you for all that you have accomplished throughout these four years at Scanlan. I know you have had a tough end to your senior year but understand everything happens for a reason. You will always be special to me as my first class to graduate from Scanlan as principal. I will always be here for you and wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Mr. Keelin
